WHAT:  Burien Arts 20/20 is an extremely fun and unique art show and sale that benefits the Burien Arts Association and Gallery, and helps fulfill the mission of bringing quality and affordable art experiences to Burien and surrounding communities. This event is made possible by countless volunteer hours, and that's where YOU come in...  We are looking for people to volunteer on Saturday, November 19th at the Burien Community Center in the following areas:

The event opens to the public at 6:30PM, but volunteers are needed before that time.

SET UP:  This involves heavy lifting and is probably one of the more taxing activities. It involves setting up the display boards that the art will be set up on. This will be at around noon on Saturday the 19th.

ART HANGING: We will need assistance hanging the 400 plus pieces of artwork.  That will be done at around 2 or 3:00 PM on Saturday the 19th.

GREETERS:  Our fabulous Greeters are responsible for making our guests feel welcome, soliciting donations at the door, and general positive interaction with folks coming to the show. You would also be responsible for answering questions or pointing folks in the direction of where they can get their questions answered. We are seeking a few gregarious types for this very key role.

CASHIERS:  Cashiers will be responsible for ringing people up when the art is ready to be purchased. Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase on the cashier counter. Purchases will be handled either using a Square application on a smart device or processing cash or check transactions. There will be a training class on how to use the Square devices and general logistics of the purchasing counter. The training will be held not long before the start of the event--at about 5 PM.

RAFFLE TICKET SALES: Circulate through the crowd selling raffle tickets.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE:  Food and beverage volunteers will be responsible for picking up food from local restaurants, bringing food from the kitchen to the table, condensing the food trays through the evening, making sure that we don't run out of napkins/cups/silverware/etc. during the evening.

CLEAN UP:  Pretty self-explanatory, but in addition to concessions clean up, moving chairs and tables back to their original locations, vacuuming and mopping we will need help moving the display boards outside to the lock up area.

Brought to you by the Burien Arts Association and Vision 2020 Committee.
