With colder weather coming, I have started to use my crockpot and cooking pots for... Soup! I cook often, travel more, and find that soup is a comfort when I am home. Plus, some store in the freezer really well.
I have a few recipes I turn to often, but I am always seeking more recipes. Unusual or culturally significant/ethnic are always appreciated - especially if you have a personal connection!
I've seen offers for learning to cook a particular dish or immersion into another culture via food, but don't see anyone currently offering.
I don't have any soups I'd like to learn to make in particular, but I can tell you I'd like to explore other cultures. I know that I love stopping by White Center's Salvadorean Bakery for soup (I have a serious love for hominy!), pho is almost a food group to me, and I know I've had some Indian, Thai and other soups I've enjoyed. When I travel, I am forever trying to find Jewish cuisine. I might even be willing to try borscht since I've had a new-found love of beets. I've never made any of these at home. I'm not afraid to try most things at least once, love spice of all kinds, and am an avid cook that doesn't strictly follow recipes.
My only allergy is peanut (all other nuts/seeds fine) and I have a love/hate relationship with whole milk products if consumed regularly (cheese is fine!).
We could do this at least a couple different ways - we could share in purchasing ingredients and the soup or I could teach you to make one of my 'go-to' soups in exchange for learning one of yours. My place or yours.
