Hi!
My name is Shoshanna Cohen and I am a k-5 integrated arts specialist at White Center Heights Elementary in south Seattle.
We are attempting a felt sewing project with our 4th and 5th graders. A project like this has never been attempted at my school. The goal is for each 4th and 5th grader to make two small stuffed animals, one to keep or give as a holiday gift and one to donate to the Seattle Children's Hospital.
The dates and times I am looking for planning, designing, and drawing their stuffed animals:
Monday, Nov 26th: 11:10-11:50am
Tuesday, Nov 27th: 10:10-10:55am and 11:10-11:55am
Thursday, Nov 29th: 10:10-10:55am and 11:10-11:55am
Friday, Nov 30th: 10:00-10:40am and 10:40am-11:20am
The following two weeks will be at the same times and the students will actually sewing the stuffed animals together on those days.
I have already collected donations of felt, thread, and child-safe needles that can work with felt.
These kids have never had an opportunity to sew or make anything themselves. It's going to be a great project, but extra hands would be a huge blessing!
Thank you so much in advance.
