Need help with 'how to' print out downloaded PDFs (ASAP??)

For some reason I have a LOT of problems simply trying to print them; they show up as Adobe files -- sounded like I needed to "buy" Adobe PC (??) so signed up for a free trial (and that wasn't easy either) but still, I can't print these @#$%^& things.  HELP!!! Please forgive my impatience but this is the second day of my efforts.
