Our Italian plums are ripening! Today there are a few ripe ones and lots of almost ripe ones. Next week looks prime. I will keep some for jam and dehydrating, but there are always more than I can use.
Let me know whether you want to pick or just pick up a batch of picked plums (and how many) and what your schedule is like. We are in West Seattle near the West Seattle Nursery.
You should know:
- Picking may involve sharing space with chickens.
- In most years 1/4 to 1/2 of plums have fruit-fly larva in them. Easy to trim out.
- I get nervous thinking about ladders and visitors, but at least the first rounds can be reached from the ground.
