The Timebank gathering for September will be Soup Swap. You bring four frozen (individual) quarts of soup and go home with four different soups to sustain you through the fall.
Because it is 2021, this gathering will have a virtual option, though some physical participation will be required to drop off and pick up soup. The in-person option will be outside and we ask that you wear masks.

Anyone interested in swapping soup should make and freeze a soup. Now is not too early! The day of the soup swap is too late.

Please write down ingredients for allergy/dietary awareness. Freeze soup in 1-quart containers. One quart is four cups. Clean plastic yogurt or takeout containers, quart freezer bags, reusable Gladware (for example) plastic containers, or quart canning jars are all fine containers. Remember that soup will expand when frozen! Please label your soups with your name, soup name, and main ingredients. If you would be willing to share your recipe, please send it to [email protected].
You will have a chance to tell the story of your soup to make everyone want to pick it! People have been known to exaggerate (recipe in their family for ten generations, grew the saffron in their back yard, etc.). That is fine. People have also been known to include extras, like accompaniments or accessories, to make their soup more in demand. That is also fine. However, this is not a contest. It is fine to bring just your soup and to tell the truth about it!
To attend virtually:

- Drop off your frozen soups to Hannah & Julie's house by the day before the swap. Let us know you're coming so we get your soup in the freezer right away. (We'll send you the address and our contact info when you RSVP.)
- Attend the Soup Swap on Zoom: Tell us about your soup and take your pick of soup on your turns.
- Pick up your soups after the soup swap.

- Take your soups home with you.
During the soup swap:
- Everyone will get a number. That will be the order we give our telling-of-the-soups in and the order we pick soups in.
- Each swapper will tell us about their soup.
- In the same order, we will each pick a soup for four rounds.
- We will have an inventory of soups on Zoom so you can keep track of what is left.
