Job Description: The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for the recruitment, selection, orientation, and training, all volunteers serving in the West Seattle Helpline’s programs and events. This position will involve working some evening and weekend times throughout the year. Specific tasks include:
- Maintaining and updating volunteer recruitment, training, and guidance materials
- Creating and implementing volunteer recruitment strategies
- Coordinating and leading volunteer orientations and trainings
- Recruiting for canceled volunteer shifts
- Supporting other tasks supporting our volunteer program
The Volunteer Coordinator will report directly to the Executive Director. They will work alongside the Program Coordinator to ensure effective service delivery and coordination between volunteer activities and administered services including rent & utility assistance, transportation assistance, and Clothesline management.
Time: This is a 15-20 hour a week position. It can be done in a combination of remote work and office hours. The Volunteer Coordinator will need to be at our office in West Seattle for volunteer orientation and trainings on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 6-7pm, and some office hours during the workday.
