Delridge Grocery Coop is a small start-up grocery store planning to open in the spring of 2020 in the Youngstown neighborhood on Delridge. The neighborhood is classified as a “Food Desert” by the federal government with no walkable access to a major grocery store and no close, easy or direct bus service to a supermarket The mission of Delridge Grocery Coop is to leverage the retail space to connect food and people through education and greater access to healthy, affordable food. Our goal is to be seen by others as a stable and valuable resource in the community that reflects the heart of Delridge.
The Delridge Grocery Co-op is looking for volunteers to help with the growth of the organization! We are currently under construction, and plan to open in Spring 2020. We need help with setting up and taking down Farm Stands on Wednesdays 4:30-6:30pm, and Saturdays 10:30am-1:30pm, meeting customers and asking people to join the co-op.
