About

In the West Seattle Timebank we exchange time with each other to build community, support each other and great causes, and explore non-monetary economies. This Timebank covers West Seattle, White Center, and Burien.

Each person has talents to share. When neighbors help one another, the overall community is strengthened. For every hour that you help meet the needs of another member, you earn a time credit. This time credit can then be used for services from others. And the never-ending cycle of sharing and exchanging services continues.

The mission of TimeBanks.Org, our charter organization, is to promote equality and build caring community economies through inclusive exchanges of time and talents. https://timebanks.org/

Mission: West Seattle Timebank builds connections between members and member organizations as they exchange services, skills, talents and time.

Vision: We envision strong communities that value the time and resources of all people who are equitably valued as an asset in a sustainable, non-monetary economy.

Serving West Seattle, White Center, and Burien

The West Seattle Timebank is neighbors exchanging time to help neighbors.

At its most basic level, time banking is simply about spending an hour doing something for somebody in your community.  That hour goes into your Timebank account as one credit hour.  You then have a credit hour to spend on having someone do something for you.  All talents/skills are valued equally.

Timebanking builds a non-monetary community of support.  It is about engaging socially with others in your own community -- without any money being exchanged.
