FIRST: thank you to our wonderful Time Bank community for your recent donations of diapers and clothing and more for newly-arriving Afghan refugees. They were put to immediate use!
NOW: we're looking for sewing machines of any age or type. Most of the families are accustomed to sewing their own, and would be happy to give a new home to any machine you may have sitting around unused. Notions such as bobbins and thread would also be welcome!
ALSO: Laptop computers of any age ... so long as they can connect to the Internet. This is very important for children learning English!
I will pick up whatever you may wish to donate and bring to the Clothing And Hygiene Center For Refugees in Renton, tun by SCM Medical Missions (so you can get a tax ID if you items deductions) in co-ordination with the Washington State DSHS Office of Refugee and Immigrant Assistance (
Office of Refugee and Immigrant Assistance | DSHS (wa.gov)) .
Let me know if you have any questions, and THANK YOU AGAIN!
