October's Timebank gathering will be a Soup Swap. Prepare for the fall weather by trading comforting and nourishing soups!
When: October 29, 2:00 PM-5:00 PM
Where: West Seattle, RSVP for address.
How it works:
- You make and freeze 4 or 5 quarts of soup. Recipe ideas: PCC, Taste of Home, Serious Eats
- Freeze the soup in quart-sized containers. Freezer bags, quart jars (with plenty of head space), plastic yogurt container all work well. No need to be fancy. The 5th quart is for tasting before the swap.
- Bring your frozen soup with you to the swap. If you have a small crock pot or warmer, bring it for tasting (there will be extras; don't worry if you don't have one).
- We will gather and visit and taste soups and snacks for the first hour.
- Everyone will get a number and a chance to extoll the wonders of their soup.
- Everyone (in the same order) will get four chances to pick a soup.
Prizes for first soup picked, first soup to run out, and last soup to run out. - Enjoy your soup during these cozy fall nights!
